• 법에 따라 남의 자식을 자기 집에 데려다가 내 자식처럼 양육하는 것을 양자라고 한다. 
• 요즘 한국이나 미국에서 양자하는 가정이나 양자를 가는 아이들의 수가 증가 일로에 있다.
• 1993년에 미국에서 양자를 위한 비자발급 수가 년 5,500 정도였는데 2001년에는 거의 20,000 정도이었다고 한다. 
• 양자로 데려온 아이들에게는 친부모 밑에서 자란 아이들에게 보다 더 정신적 육체적 문제가 더 많이 있는 것이 보통이다. 
• 그 중 한국은 4 번째로 한국자녀들을 미국으로 양자를 보내고 있다(2012년).
• 외국에서 양자를 해온 아이들에게는 정신적 육체적 건강문제가 더 많이 있을 수 있다.
• 특히 가정 이 외 고아원 등에서 양육했던 아이들을 양자했을 경우 그들에게 정신적 육체적 건강문제가 더 많이 있는 것이 보통이다.
• 양자를 해서 아이를 집으로 처음 데리고 오기 전과 데리고 온 후 양부모들은 특히 다음과 같은 건강문제를 고려하고 체크해야 한다.

• • 목욕시키는 방법, 
  • 음식물을 먹이는 방법, 
  • 잠자는 것에 관해서 알아본다. 
  • 가족 병력과 과거 병력을 알아보고, 
  • 만성 상기도염, 
  • 중이염, 
  • 성장 중지증, 
  • 설사, 구토, 
  • 농가진, 이, 옴, 기저귀 피부염, 
  • 음식물 먹는 문제점, 
  • 변이성 우울증 등이 현재 있나 확인한다. 
  • 혀를 내민다든지 머리를 끄덕거린다든지, 
  • 수면 불안 공포증, 
  • 무분별 친절 행동증 등이 있나 확인한다.
  • 양자로 집에 데리고 온 후 가능한 한 바로 소아청소년과에서 성장발육 정도를 체크해보고 건강검진을 받는 것이 중요하다. 
  • 특히 행동 이상이 있는지 언어발육이나 개인 사회성 발달, 미세운동과 전체운동 발달 등의 정도를 체크한다. 
  • 신체검사에서 흉터가 있는지 멍이 들어 있는지, 
  • 피부병이 있는지, 
  • 탈모증 등이 있는지 체크해본다. 
  • 매독, 간염, 에이즈, 결핵, 기생충 등의 감염병이 있는지 임상검사를 한다. 
  • 시력검사, 청력검사, 치아검사를 기본적으로 한다. 
  • CBC(시비시) 피 검사를 해서 빈혈이 있나 확인한다. 
  • 소변검사, 
  • 갑상선 기능검사, 
  • 혈중 납농도 검사 등을 기본적으로 하고 영아들의 경우 신생아 신진대사 검사를 한다. 
  • 홍역, 풍진, 유행성 이하선염, 히브 감염병,  인플루엔자, 소아마비, 로타 바이러스  위장염, 디프테리아, 파상풍, 백일해, B형 간염, A형 간염, 뇌막염, 사람 유두종 바이러스 감염병, 수두 등의 감염병을 예방하는 예방접종 등을 적기에 맞았는지 확인한다.

• According to the law, taking someone else’s child to your own home and raising them as your own is called adoption.

• These days, the number of adoptive families or adoptive children in Korea or the United States is on the rise.

• In 1993, the number of visas issued for both children in the United States was about 5,500 per year, but in 2001 it was said to be nearly 20,000.

• Adopted children usually have more mental and physical problems than children raised by their biological parents.

• Among them, Korea is the fourth country to send Korean children to the United States (2012).

• Children who are adopted abroad may have more mental and physical health problems.

• It is common for them to have more mental and physical health problems, especially if they have adopted children who were raised in an orphanage outside of their home.

• Adoptive parents before and after bringing their child home for the first time after adopting a child, especially the following health problems should be considered and checked.

o How to bathe,

o How to feed;

o Learn about sleeping.

o Find out about family and past medical history;

o Chronic upper respiratory tract infection,

o Otitis media,

o Growth stasis,

o Diarrhea, vomiting,

o Impetigo, lice, scabies, diaper dermatitis,

o Problems with eating;

o Check for the presence of mutant depression.

o sticking out the tongue or nodding the head,

o sleep anxiety phobia,

o Check for indiscriminate kindness behavior.

o After bringing home as an adopted child, it is important to check the level of growth and development at the Department of Pediatrics as soon as possible and receive a health checkup.

o In particular, check the degree of language development, individual social development, fine motor and total motor development for behavioral abnormalities. o Physical examination for scars or bruises;

o Do you have any skin conditions?

o Check for alopecia, etc.

o Conduct clinical tests for infectious diseases such as syphilis, hepatitis, AIDS, tuberculosis, and parasites. o Eye examination, hearing examination, and dental examination are basically performed.

o Check for anemia by performing a CBC blood test. o urinalysis;

o Thyroid function test, o Blood lead concentration tests are basically performed, and in the case of infants, newborn metabolism tests are performed.

o Vaccinations to prevent infectious diseases such as measles, rubella, mumps, HIV infection, influenza, polio, rotavirus gastroenteritis, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, meningitis, human papillomavirus infection, chickenpox, etc. Make sure you hit the right time. o others
