The new lower concentration of 160 mg/5 mL that is appearing in stores will affect the amount of liquid acetaminophen given to an infant, especially if the caregiver has been using the more concentrated 80 mg/0.8 mL or 80 mg/1 mL formulation. The newer product comes with an oral syringe instead of a dropper to measure the precise dose of liquid.
새로운 아세트아민노펜 액제 5cc(5mL) 속에 160mg 아세트아민노펜이 들어 있다.

아스피린은 과거에 많이 쓴 해열 진통제이고 소염제였다.
그로 인해 소화장애, 출혈, 라이 증후군 등의 부작용이 생길 수 있다.
요즘 아스피린은 해열제로 잘 쓰지 않는다.
아세트아미노펜제(Acetaminophen)은 요즘 가장 많이 쓰는 해열제이고 진통제이다.
아세트아미노펜은 부작용이 비교적 적고 해열 치료를 할 때 효과도 좋은 해열제이다.
그 때문에 요즘 주로 널리 쓰는 해열제이다.
아세트아미노펜제의 1회분 해열 치료 용량은 자녀의 나이와 체중에 따라 정한다.
소아들의 1회분 해열 치료 용량은 대략 다음과 같다.
- 1세에 80mg,
- 2세에 160mg,
- 3세에 240mg,
- 4세에 320mg,
- 5세에 320mg 이다.
- 10세 이상의 아이들과 성인들의 1회분 해열 치료 용량은 650mg∼1000㎎이다.
- 그러나 의사의 처방에 따라 1회분 해열치료 용량을 가감할 수 있다.
2009년도 미 FDA는 가능한 한 최대 1회분 해열 치료용량이 500mg 이상 쓰지 말라고 권장한다.
아세트아미노펜 성분이든 해열제는 알약, 엘릭서, 점적약, 좌약 등이 있다.
아세트아미노펜제 좌약을 될 수 있는 한 쓰지 않는다.
아세트아미노펜제 성분이든 해열제에는 타이레놀과 리나펜 등 여러 가지의 상품명이 있다.
아이브프로펜제(Ibuprofen)는 일종의 해열제, 진통제, 소염제이다.
많은 경우 아세트아미노펜으로 해열을 시키는 대신 아이브프로펜제로 해열시키기도 한다.
아이브프로펜제로 해열시킬 수 있고 아이브프로펜제와 아세트아미노펜제를 함께 써서 해열시킬 수도 있다.
아이브프로펜제의 성분이 든 상품에는 애드빌과 모트린 등 여러 가지가 더 있다.
