좌쪽 머리나 우쪽 머리가 선천성으로, 또는 후천성으로 기울어지거나 정상적으로 또는 정상 이상으로 납작할 수 있다. 한쪽으로 기울어진 머리를 사두라 하고, 머리의 뒤 부위가 납작한 것을 편 평두라고 한다.
둥글둥글하고 양쪽이 대칭적 머리를 갖고 태어난 후 영아기에 머리의 한쪽 면이나 머리의 뒤통수를 바닥에 대고 누워 자는 버릇으로 영아들의 머리에 후천적 사두나 납작한 편 평머리(편 평두)가 생길 수 있다.
이렇게 생긴 사두나 편 평두의 거의가 정상적이다. 머리를 들고 좌우로 돌릴 수 있고 앉기 시작할 때부터 머리 모양이 타고난 제 모양으로 자연적으로 돌아가는 것이 보통이다.
머리가 납작하지 않게 또는 한쪽으로 기울어지지 않게 다음과 같이할 수 있다.
1~2주 간 한쪽 머리로 눕혀 재운 다음 1~2주 동안 다른 쪽 머리로 눕혀 재우든지, 또는 침대나 누어있는 방향을 180도 바꿔 재워 영아가 스스로 머리 위치를 바꾸어 잘 수 있다.
이런 식으로 사두나 편 평두가 생기지 않게 예방 치료할 수 있다.

Plagiocephaly and plat head

The left or right head may be congenitally or acquired slanted or normally or abnormally flattened.

A head tilted to one side is called a sadu, and a head with a flat back is called a flat head. After being born with round and symmetrical heads, the habit of sleeping with one side of the head or the back of the head on the floor during infancy can result in acquired sardines or flat heads (flat head) on the head of infants.

Most of the saddles or flat heads that look like this are normal. You can lift your head up and turn it left and right, and it is normal for your head to naturally return to its natural shape from the moment you start sitting down.

To keep your head from flattening or tilting to one side, you can: Infants can sleep on one side of the head for 1 to 2 weeks and then lay them on the other side for 1 to 2 weeks, or turn the bed or the lying position 180 degrees to sleep by changing the position of their head. In this way, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of sciatica or flat head.
